Educate Nica

Overview

During summers between design school semesters, I worked as a travel field photographer. On one of the trips, I stayed in Nicaragua for one month. Upon leaving I intended to somehow help support the community I met.

Upon reflection, my goal was to travel back to Nicaragua and take more photos to support their student sponsorship program. I photographed each student sitting on their bed and in front of a white background.

What started as a photography project turned into a 501c3 non-profit. Over the course of five years, we raised and sent over $250,000 USD.

I developed an e-commerce style website utilizing Shopify and Chargify. We managed relations between our field partners, students, and donors. The website facilitated sponsorships, student profiles, and financials.
